QUALIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES:
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Production and Technology, Audio-Visual Technology, Music Engineering, Communications, Broadcasting, Digital Media or an appropriate combination of education and experience.
- Production audio and video environment experience - one year preferred.
- Strong, effective interpersonal, communication, organizational and leadership skills.
- Knowledge and appreciation of traditional and contemporary worship.
- Demonstrated audio, video and lighting experience in a worship or other setting.
- Demonstrated ability to attract, direct, train, develop and inspire volunteers.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others as both a leader and a participant.
- Willingness to continue learning and growing in a variety of media, technology and communication disciplines.
- Knowledge of common communication platforms like Facebook and basic website maintenance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist and coordinate Staff, production volunteers, interns, and Praise Team members.
- Recruit, train, direct and schedule all staff, interns, and necessary production/technical volunteers.
- Provide input for worship set-up based upon weekly needs.
- Be available for assistance in the main office with phones, bulletins, and any other work needed.
- Attend Praise Team rehearsals, perform sound checks, and provide technical advice and support.
- Work with custodial staff and volunteers to ensure that equipment (microphones, lighting, projectors, DVD players, computers, etc.) is in place and in working order for rehearsals and worship services.
- Work with staff, volunteers, and Scheduling Ministry Team to ensure that equipment (microphones, lighting, projectors, DVD players, computers, etc.) is in place for meetings and special events as requested.
- Work with the Scheduling Ministry Team to provide input regarding the availability and feasibility of use of audio, video, and lighting equipment for meetings and events other than worship services.
- All other assistance is dictated by the type of event or the needs of the church.
- Ensure appropriate equipment is researched, installed, and configured.
- Ensure appropriate safety measures are taken with equipment and cabling to prevent injuries.
- Maintain an equipment inventory and documentation of all audio, video, lighting and related equipment, including computer hardware/software.
- Troubleshoot and work with necessary persons and the Technology Ministry Team to maintain and update audio, video, lighting and related equipment, including computer hardware/software.
- Provide a program for interns and volunteers to come learn about technology and communications as a ministry.
- Update and monitor the church website regularly and design necessary graphics.
- Organize and send out a bi-weekly E-newsletter
- Make Scheduling Ministry Team, staff, interns, and volunteers aware of any limitations with your schedule and find reliable and appropriate replacements for all events if you cannot attend.
- Be the onsite technical contact for those using church facilities to ensure appropriate and safe use of the facility and audio/video/lighting and related equipment.
- Create and edit videos, as needed, utilizing available equipment and software.
- All other duties as assigned or approved by the Business Administrator or Lead Pastor as Head of Staff.
