SUPPORTING OUR CHRISTIAN HERITAGE
The First Presbyterian Church Foundation was established in 1968 to manage and provide good stewardship and prudent fiduciary oversite of testamentary (bequest and estate) gifts and living gifts given for the purpose of supporting the First Presbyterian Church of Fort Dodge and its mission and ministry.
Be a part of creating a faith-filled future
Gifts to the Foundation help ensure the future of our community of faith and its vital mission and ministry. By giving to the Foundation, you are supporting a legacy of Christian love, service, and compassion that will continue to inspire and transform lives for generations to come.
The Foundation is a 501-C-3, Type 1 supporting organization that works closely with the Session to support the Christian mission and ministry of First Presbyterian Church.
The Foundation is governed by a nine-member board of directors, each a member of First Presbyterian Church. The Board meets monthly to oversee the Foundation’s operations and investments, and to review and approve fund distributions.
To begin a conversation on how you can support the Church’s mission and ministry through a gift to the Foundation, contact the Church Executive Pastor and Foundation representative, Chris Helton, at 515-418-2743 or email Chris at .
Establish a family legacy and make a lasting impact
Whether you desire to create an individual or family legacy, honor a loved one’s memory, or simply help ensure the future of ministries that mean the most to you, there are a variety of options. The Foundation will work with you to establish a fund in your name or you can do so anonymously.
TYPES OF FUNDS:
Endowed Funds
These funds allow a designated percent of the value of the fund to be used annually to support Church needs and programs. Endowed funds provide the Church with financial support for decades to come.
Non-Endowed Funds
These funds can be used to meet Church needs with no annual distribution limitations.
Unrestricted Funds
Unrestricted funds can be used to support a wide range of Church projects, programs, services or needs. Unrestricted funds offer the flexibility to address current and future needs of the Church that are often changing and even unknown today.
Restricted Funds
These funds are restricted to support specific projects, programs, services or needs of the Church as designated by the donor.
GIVE TO THE FOUNDATION
Like those who came before us, we are called to recognize and appreciate that we have been blessed and can therefore be a blessing to the Church today and to the generations who will follow us. One of the ways we can be faithful in this call is through gifts to the Foundation. In no small measure, donations to the Foundation will assure that the vibrant mission for God through the work of First Presbyterian Church will be sustained and supported today and for decades to come.
