Austin's Update (May 2022)

Posted by Austin Hill on

As we approach the summer, our Sunday mornings are going to look different. Starting on Sunday, May 28th, Memorial Day Weekend, we’ll have just one Sunday morning service at 10am, in the sanctuary. Each week we’ll incorporate different styles of worship in this time.

Starting on Sunday, June 5th, we’ll mix it up on the first Sunday of each month throughout the summer. We’ll still have our 10am start time, but we’ll add other interesting elements, like having a meal or having the service outdoors, for example.

On June 5th, it will be Pentecost. Wear red and come ready for some fun surprises that day in the sanctuary during the worship service and to take home afterward.

Also throughout this summer, we’ll be exploring various ways we can grow in our faith and strengthen ourselves for the amazing ministry God has invited us into. On Pentecost we’ll explore how God has empowered through the Holy Spirit to do amazing work.

For some of us, coming out of the last few years, we might not feel ready to see what amazing work God wants to do in our community or through us. We might still feel exhausted and discouraged. While for others of us, we maybe can’t wait to see what’s next, what new things God has in store for us.

That is why we’ll explore various practices and perspectives to help strengthen us and encourage us for what’s next. God has great things in store and God wants you and me to join in that awesome work. So let’s dedicate this summer, a time that often doesn’t quite have the programming and busyness of the school year, to be intentional about preparing for what’s next.
