First Presbyterian Church Fort Dodge

I’d like to invite you to begin a conversation with me about our worship services. As we’ve stated earlier this summer, our one-service schedule has spurred some thoughts and questions about how we gather together to worship God.

In the coming weeks, on Sunday, October 2^nd and Sunday October 16^th, between both morning services, I’ll be hosting an information conversation with folks about our worship services. We’ll have these conversations in the commons from 10am to 10:40am.

These won’t be the only opportunities we’ll have for dialogue and information gathering this fall. It’s simply a start to an ongoing conversation.

Here are some questions I’d like you to consider that we can discuss over these two weeks:

• What do you believe corporate worship matters? As a church? As an individual?
• How does a worship service benefit from the presence of others?
• Which parts of the worship service connect with you the most? Why?
• How does a worship service encourage and strengthen you?
• When has a worship service challenged your faith and helped you grow as a person?
• What is the most important element of a worship service that must never be compromised? Why do you think so?
• What do you think or feel when a part of a worship service does not connect with you?
• What energizes you more: participating in a worship service with more people you know, or worshipping in a style you are most comfortable with?

This conversation will be fairly open-ended and exploratory. So please come ready to share your thoughts and hear from one another. I’ll see you on the 2^nd or the 16^th at 10am in the commons!
