Sara's Update (April 2022)

Posted by Sara Hill on

Summer camp at Lakeshore Center at Okoboji is going to be such fun this year! The theme is “What’s in a name?”  Names have great power. We will be reminded that God knows us and calls us each by name into a relationship. Along the journey, we discover who we are and how God equips us to care for others. As we grow, learn, and discover our true self, we define our own name and find our place as a child of God. There are many opportunities to go to camp this year, from one-day camps to week-long camps, from pre-K through 12th grade to adults! There is a type of camp for everyone.

This year our church is paying the full cost of anyone who would like to go if they are enrolled in KidZone Daycare or a child/grandchild of a church member. If you are an adult who attends camp with a child (such as Sheep & Shepherds Camp or Family Camp), we will pay your way, too! We are blessed as a church with funds held in our Foundation specifically for camp scholarships. We give thanks to God for the generosity of those who came before us!

When you sign up online, ilovelakeshore.com, simply indicate that you will “pay by check” and the church will take care of the rest. If you are in 3rd-12th grade, we highly encourage you to go to camp the week of July 24-29 for Discovery Camp or Movie Camp. Pastor Sara will be the camp pastor that week and is so excited to go to camp with her own children and other cool kids from First Presbyterian Church. She’ll be driving a church van to and from camp, so you can ride with her, too.
